National Account Manager - North East

Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working exclusively to recruit a National Accounts Manager for our exciting, growth FMCG client who have a national presence.   

Working as part of the UK Sales Team and reporting to the Sales Controller, you will be responsible for managing and growing profitable sales in a number of key accounts along with supporting to identify and develop new customers.

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities would include:

  • Achieve sales, GP and volume targets for the account portfolio.
  • Management and control of the budget for the account portfolio.
  • Formulating annual account plans and budgets.
  • Plan and manage account portfolio according to agreed development strategy.
  • Use customer and internal tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems.
  • Sales forecasting.
  • Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Day to day management of required administration both internally and for the account portfolio.
  • Provide timely feedback to the Sales Controller regarding performance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  • Support in the training and development of new starters, apprentices and graduates as required.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures/ work instructions and continuous improvement activities.

You must be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experiences:

  • Experience of successfully managing accounts in a sales or account management capacity.
  • Experience of selling both branded and/or own-label FMCG products would offer an advantage.
  • Experience of working in an e-commerce role would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Effective communicator and ability to present at all levels with customers and internally.
  • Confident and capable of operating at all levels, good team player, and ability to move to the next level.
  • The ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally will be a key part to your success.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

Salary up to c£45k plus car allowance, bonus and generous benefits package. This is a home based role.
