Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working exclusively with a successful growth business based in Leeds who are looking to appoint an additional Management Accountant to the team. 

The role would suit a recently qualified accountant, ideally a first time mover from practice or someone looking for a fresh challenge in industry. You will be required to produce detailed and accurate management accounts for a number of business units and provide general assistance to the accounting team.

Your duties would include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, plus quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and operational reviews for allocated businesses.
  • Preparing journals, pre-payments and accruals.
  • Reconcile relevant balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Provide general support as and when required.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of daily sales data and other similar reports.
  • Prepare and compile financial data for managers requesting information on an ad hoc basis
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns to ensure the Company pays the correct VAT.
  • Collate information in response to National Statistic requests.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments to ensure that projects in progress’ spending is within budget while also questioning any anomalies.

  • Willingness to learn and to continue development and pursue professional qualification.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and achieve a high standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data.
  • Ability to present clear reports and to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of management accounts.
  • Experience working with computerised accounting systems.
  • Significant experience with MS Excel.
  • Ability to show initiative to recommend changes in order to improve management reporting and the efficiency of processes. 
  • Ability to work alone or within a team.

Salary up to c£50,000 - 55,000 depending on skills and experience and a generous benefits package.
