Optimum Recruitment Group are working exclusively with our manufacturing client based in Middlesbrough who are recruiting a Customer Service & Supply Chain Manager.

Operating as part of the senior management team, you will be responsible for managing the customer service, logistics and supply chain functions including distribution, ensuring effective management of goods within and out of a production site and achieving first class service levels.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Improving the standard of service to customers.
  • Managing and negotiating commercial relationships with hauliers.
  • Reviewing the haulier service and re-tendering to achieve improvements in overall service levels to customers and realise any commercial improvements.
  • Understanding the export supply chain and improving service levels in export deliveries.
  • Recommending improvements to the export supply chain process.
  • Day to day management of the customer services team.
  • Responsibility for all pallet process management.
  • Ensuring stockholding at third party warehouses is managed.
  • Working with customers to achieve most cost-effective supply chain solutions.
  • Reporting on service levels to customers.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with major customers’ distribution departments through regular reviews.
  • Liaising with the warehouse and production teams to target OTIF figures.
  • Being prepared to challenge, check, change and communicate current and future processes.

You must be an effective communicator and have the ability to see the bigger picture. Confident, a good team player and manager, you must have ability to grow with the role.  You must have exceptional customer service experience and have the ability to build effective relationships. You also must have the demonstrable ability to interact and cooperate with all levels within the business.  Experience from within customer services, supply chain or manufacturing logistics management is essential.

Salary dependent on skills and experience but salary range between c£35k - £50k plus generous benefits package.
