Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working exclusively with this fantastic growth business based in South Leeds who are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to the team.
This role would suit an all round accounts assistant who likes to get involved in all aspects of transactional finance to trial balance. A busy and varied opportunity that will involve liaising with other business departments. Our client is looking for a candidate who has previous experience in a similar role, has excellent attention to detail, is keen to learn new skills, improve processes and can communicate confidently. The role would suit an AAT Technician.
You will contribute to the smooth running of the finance function, your duties would include:
- Multi-currency bank reconciliations.
- Credit control management including aged debt reporting.
- Allocate cash receipts / clear unallocated cash / post contra payments.
- Resolve old invoices on the ledger.
- New customer evaluation and set-up.
- Cash forecasting.
- Daily sales reporting to Board of Directors / Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Monthly reporting to bank and monitoring of invoice discounting facility.
- Work closely with the commercial team to ensure correct pricing structures are maintained.
- Management of central mailboxes dealing with queries in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate authorisation and entry of purchase invoices.
- Ensure accurate and timely payments to suppliers including reconciliation of statements.
- Production of quarterly VAT returns.
- National Statistic Office returns.
- Assist Financial Controller as necessary with month end close.
- Ensure processes run as smoothly and efficiently as possible always challenging the status quo to drive continuous improvement.
As the successful candidate you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- AAT studier / technician or qualified by experience.
- Sound computer literacy with advanced Excel – VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Experience of delivering month-end requirements and reporting.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Ability to work within strict deadlines and reporting timeframes.
- Demonstrable experience in financial accounting and accounting practices.
- Knowledge of financial control requirements and audit implications.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to effectively support internal and external customers/stakeholders.
This is an office based role. Salary up to £35,000 plus pension and holidays
